The RoboRun

The idea had been bounced around for so long it is hard to remember its true origins.  It was probably, like most of our ideas, a product of our late night drunken idea factory. A broken levy letting our creative gold flow as we tried to sober up over a burrito at Robertito’s Taquaria.  We had been tossing the idea around of a race, but something different, something fun, and something us. The epiphany was simple, the route naturally laid out, and a group of people just crazy enough to make it work.  The product was The First Annual RoboRun !!!

A race where every participant must eat an entire Robertito’s burrito before running to the next Taco Shop.  The route covered over seven miles of Blackstone and five Robertito’s taquarias.  A test of endurance that challenged not only your legs and lungs but also your stomach and drive.  The crew at DI60Y challenged the girls of Atomic Assault Roller Derby to see who could eat and then actually move and see if our feet could defeat their skates. 

 

If it was Bo running over three miles after eating 

a Carne Asada Burrito or if it was the Girls

of Atomic Assault inhaling a full plate of super nachos after skating 7 miles, heroes were certainly made that day. We all fought hard to win and team DI60Y certainly made some mistakes that we paid dearly for.  At the end of the day it was Team Atomic Assault who took the title of RoboRun champions by a matter of seconds.  You can watch all the heroics, gaffes, and glory on our video below.

This is the first annual RoboRun and we are challenging people to get a team together and participate next year.  Contact us, get in shape, and get hungry because the RoboRun will be back and no one is going to want to miss this event.  SPREAD THE WORD !!!
